Where do I go when I get there?

Brentwood is not so big that you will walk around without meeting someone. People meet and greet one another in the hallways and the Sanctuary and Chapel Narthex. Be sure to stop by the Guest Services Desk located in the Main Lobby outside the worship center (see map).   The Guest Services Desk is staffed by our Andrew Ministers who are glad to answer any questions you may have. You can also ask a greeter for information about our church.

What are the services like?

Because our congregation is diverse, our services include congregational readings, music (congregation and choir), prayers, and sermons following in the Methodist tradition. Our services are neither “high church” nor "contemporary," but focus on communicating and sharing the truths of the Bible and God's direction in our lives.

  • Our Saturday evening service offers an intimate, casual approach to traditional worship, along with occasional use of newer forms of praise to our Creator.
  • At 8:30 am Sunday mornings our traditional/blended service is anchored by our dynamic youth choirs. This service bridges the generations with a touch of media, drama, and dance, bringing new life to familiar forms.
  • The 9:50 am Sunday Awakening service brings together ageless traditions, our energetic worship band and multi-media which combine to create unique ways to connect with God.
  • Our 11:00 am Sunday service is traditional worship with the adult chancel choir.  Cherished liturgy and hymns embraced with familiar ceremony accentuated by the power and beauty of piano, pipe organ, and Chancel Choir.

What does your church believe?

We believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God and accept him as our personal Lord and Savior.   For more information on United Methodist beliefs click here.

May I participate in communion?

Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month at both morning services. United Methodists practice open communion; all present may receive the sacrament if they so desire.

How do I join the church?

If you wish to join, please fill out one of our "How to Join" cards located in the pews and come to the front during the last hymn. To talk with a minister about church membership, check "Wish to Join" on the registration pad or email Dr. Jeff Wilson at jwilson@bumc.net and he will be in touch with you.  If you prefer to speak to a Pastor directly about joining, please feel free to call Dr. Jeff Wilson at 615 324-8208.

Will I be expected to give money?

The ministries of Brentwood UMC are supported not only by the voluntary financial contributions of its members but also by giving their prayers, presence, service and witness.
