The Counseling Center at Brentwood United Methodist Church

For children youth, adults, couples, and families in our community
311 Franklin Road, Brentwood, TN 37027

What is the BUMC Counseling Center?

The BUMC Counseling Center is a unique collaboration between Brentwood Methodist Church and psychotherapists in private practice. The therapists at the BUMC Counseling Center are not employees of the church. They were recruited to relocate their practices to the Counseling Center in order to support BUMC's commitment to making mental health resources available for children, youth, adults, couples and families in Williamson County and the surrounding communities. Psychotherapy services are available regardless of religious belief, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or national origin.

Areas of Focus

The BUMC Counseling Center is home to experts in helping families resolve real life problems. At the center you can find the help you need for depression, anxiety, alcohol or drug abuse, family conflict, school failure, attention disorders, peer conflict, loneliness, social skill deficits, marital or couples issues, parenting problems, trauma after-effects, physical or sexual abuse, grief or loss, academic motivation, life change issues, stress management, and self-esteem.

The Center's History

In early 2003, the Brentwood United Methodist Church Healing Team began to discuss the need for a professional counseling resource to fill an unmet community need for persons of all faiths.  A task force appointed by the Healing Team spent over a year researching and determining the greatest local need to be counseling services for children, youth and families. The Task Force then put a plan into effect resulting in today’s BUMC Counseling Center.
