Companions in the Journey of Cancer
at Brentwood UMC

The Partners in Hope, Companions in the Journey of Cancer ministry mission is to provide support to the people of Brentwood UMC and the community who have been diagnosed with cancer. These services are intended to ease the burden of everyday life while they focus on their treatment and health. The ministry provides:

*    Care Coordination    *   Meals (Meal prep tips)
*   Prayer Pagers *   Stephen Minister coordination
*    Companion blankets *   Rides
*   Gift baskets *   Errands / support
*   Supportive mailings

This ministry was born out of Jeanetta Fargo’s personal cancer journey.  Having two young children to care for while undergoing surgery and months of chemotherapy, Jeanetta and her husband had more than they could handle.  They would not have been able to manage had it not been for the tremendous outpouring of assistance, prayers, and love from their church family.

Without volunteers, the Partners in Hope ministry will not thrive. There are several types of opportunities with varying commitment levels.  If you would like to participate in this ministry please complete the online Volunteer Form

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Jeanetta Fargo (339-4415) or email at  ejaefargo@comcast.net or Rev. Kaye Harvey at kharvey@bumc.net
