United Methodist Women

Our Purpose

 

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive, fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders and advocating for justice.  Click the image to the left to find out more.

UMW Circles

Members of the United Methodist Women meet monthly in small groups called circles for learning, fellowship, service activities, Bible study and book studies. Circle members develop close relationships with each other, praying for and nurturing each other.

Women may also be general members. These women, though not in a particular circle, support UMW by making a pledge and helping with overall activities. If you're interested in becoming a general member, please contact Pat Flemming at 615.516.7185 for more information.

Upcoming Events and Fundraisers

 

5th Annual Songwriters' Night, Friday April 19th at 7:00 pm in the church youth cafe' and tabernacle area. Proceeds benefits Bethlehem Centers. Featured songwriters are: Victoria Banks, Tim James, Fred Wilhelm. Cost: $10 in advance; $15 at the door. Homemade desserts and coffee/ tea/ lemonade provided.

The Annual Holiday Shoppe and Bake Sale takes place the Sunday morning before Thanksgiving each year in the church parlor. Proceeds benefits local and international missions.

Throughout the year, the UMW as a whole or as individual circles host and participate in numerous fundraising activities in support of missions. They also seek to build relationships with others in their support of women and children in need. We financially support the United Methodist Women's work in national and global missions through our pledges and fundraising efforts.
