Disaster Relief

Tennessee Tornado Relief

December 11, 2023 – The tornadoes over the weekend directly impacted two United Methodist Churches in our Conference.

To Help Now: We are looking for direct responders for Monday 12/11 at 9 a.m. to help the most urgent need at Fellowship UMC in Clarksville to remove the trees leaning on the building. This will secure the church and make way for further relief aid. Find out more here.

To volunteer: Fill out the form here and you will be contacted

To fund: You can fund the response that will help these two churches by going to twkumc.org/donate.

Disasters can happen at any time, and when they do, BUMC is prepared to help in any way we can. Our Disaster Relief Ministry is recruiting volunteers for our leadership team to guide the vision of this ministry and our response strategy as well as volunteers interested in receiving Early Response Training to be able to provide on-the-ground relief with UMCOR after a disaster. Contact Norman Humber at nhumber@bumc.net to learn more.

BUMC's disaster response strategy includes three areas in which to minister:
  1. PRAY – Pray for the people affected by the disaster
  2. GIVE – Donate as you are able to the BUMC Disaster Relief Fund, which will go directly to relief efforts
  3. SERVE – We will keep you updated as service opportunities become available
