Nations United

DAILY READING

Isaiah 60:1-6

This weekend’s reading: Luke 2:1-20

FIELD NOTES
Notice the language the prophet uses in these verses to portray unification and solidarity among people and nations. “Nations shall come to your light, kings to your dawn… they all gather together… the wealth of the nations shall come to you.” Jesus draws us all together in praise of the Lord.

QUESTIONS FOR THE FIELD

  • Where do you notice disunity, walls, or barriers among nations today?
  • Invite Jesus to draw you nearer to him, trusting that one day all shall be brought near as the Scriptures proclaim.

FAMILY FIELD TALK

  • Think of someone very different from you. Now list the ways you are similar.

PRAYER GUIDE
God of all nations, races, and people, you are our one true God. Forgive us as we pridefully turn our backs on one another, believing we alone know you truly. Open our hearts and minds as we yearn to be closer with you. As we come closer to you, we necessarily must come closer to one another. Amen.
