Our Intimate God

June 2, 2018

DAILY READING

Psalm 139
This weekend’s reading: Matthew 5:43-48

FIELD NOTES

How wonderful to know we worship a God that has searched us and known us, each and every one of us, and still loves us!  He calls us wonderful!  You are wonderful in the sight of God!  Our God is a god who intimately knows us and desires a personal relationship with us.

The Psalmist writes:
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
    you discern my thoughts from far away.
You search out my path and my lying down,
    and are acquainted with all my ways.
 Even before a word is on my tongue,
    O Lord, you know it completely.

For it was you who formed my inward parts;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
    Wonderful are your works;
that I know very well.

QUESTIONS FOR THE FIELD

  • Do you feel like you have a personal relationship with God?  If not, are you willing to take the first step in thinking and praying about your own faith?  If so, how are you living out your faith?
  • How does it make you feel to know that God calls you wonderful?
