For the Good of One Another

Recently, I heard a story of a woman who could have appeared on the television show Hoarders.  The woman at the center of the story could not move around her house, for it was full of trash, animal waste, and even her own waste.  She had a disease.  Her daughter just couldn’t take it anymore.  Her daughter decided enough was enough, and she was going to get her mom the help she needed.  One of the things she did was personally clean out the human and animal waste because she felt she couldn’t let someone else handle it.  She needed to be the one to do it. 
 
How far are we willing to go for others?  For our families?  For our friends?  Peter employs us to love each other steadily and unselfishly.  He calls on us to use whatever gifts we have for the good of one another.  Are we?

PRAYER
God, we come to you and pray that you would illuminate in us the gifts you have given to use to help bring God’s Kingdom here on Earth.  Help us to love in a way that is powerful and life-changing.  May we always trust you to move in our acts of love in such a way that lives are forever drawn closer to your heart.  In Christ’s name, Amen.
