You Already Have Everything

July 5, 2018

DAILY READING

1 Corinthians 4:8-13
This weekend’s reading: Colossians 2:6-15

FIELD NOTES

I wonder what our churches would look like if we realized that we have received the full power of the Holy Spirit, inherit in us, rather than living as if we were still waiting for God to empower us, or worse even, if we lived as if there was no power available to us at all.

When my father was fighting for his life, awaiting a liver transplant, I didn’t pray weak prayers.  I prayed boldly for healing because I knew God would hear the prayers of his people.

Do we live in the power of the Holy Spirit, or we wasting away, waiting for something we already have?

QUESTIONS FOR THE FIELD

  • Where has God already blessed you?

FAMILY FIELD TALK

  • What do you think Jesus loves most about you?

PRAYER

Lord, in your mercy and grace, help us to see the delight you have in us, and may it shine forth from our own lives in a way that brings glory to you.  Amen.
