God’s Handiwork

September 14, 2018

DAILY READING

Psalm 19
This weekend’s reading: Genesis 12:1-9

FIELD NOTES

Take time today to read through Psalm 19 in the very handiwork that God has created. Find a quiet spot outside at home, or in your favorite walking or hiking spot, or even look out through the window in your office and admire the beauty of creation that is all around you. God’s beauty is not just in the physical creation we see, but in the way that we experience life in our walk with Him. God is with us each step of the way, from morning until night. God’s love and care for us can be seen in the ways God loves us, and the way God protects us and teaches us through his laws and commandments.

Spend time today talking to God. Thank God, share your heart with God, and ask God to lead you.

QUESTIONS FROM THE FIELD

  • Take time to write down how you hear from God or what you experience today while reading Psalm 19 in nature.
  • Do you always feel like God’s ways (laws, commandments, teachings) are perfect? Why or why not?
  • Do you think your thoughts/actions/words would currently be considered “acceptable” in God’s sight? Why or why not?

FAMILY FIELD TALK

  • What is your favorite part of God’s creation and why?
  • If you could ask God just one question, what would it be?

PRAYER

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Amen.”
