A Willing Servant

FIELD NOTES

Are you a willing servant?  Or are you a begrudging servant? A couple weeks ago, before Love In Deed, we had only one volunteer signed up to help unload the truck on Friday evening before. I was tasked with asking the Point Men ministry here to help unload. I sent out an email and we had a great amount of help show up that Friday to unload the truck in under two hours!  It was awesome to see our men willingly and joyfully step up and serve in that way.

So what about you? When we join the church, we are asked to give not only our money but our time and our gifts.  Do we do that?  Do we volunteer for things we could easily do? And more importantly, do we want to volunteer, or do we only do it because we feel we have to?

QUESTIONS FROM THE FIELD

  • When was the last time you did something for someone because you wanted to, rather than out of a sense of obligation?

FAMILY FIELD TALK

  • What is one way you can choose to help someone this week?

PRAYER

Lord, may we always be willing servants, and may we always serve You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
