Sharing Your Story

May 7, 2019

DAILY READING

Acts 26:1-18
This weekend’s reading: Exodus 20:12

FIELD NOTES

We see this time and time again.  A sports player steps unto the field and is booed.  They use to be cheered for, but they’ve been traded and now they wear the jersey of the other team, and so they get booed.

Something similar is happening in our story today.  Paul, when he was working for the religious leaders against the Christians was fully empowered by them.  But now that he’s become a Christian, the religious leaders are against him.

But Paul knows that he can’t go back, even if he wanted to.  For he has been transformed by Christ.  He also knows that in sharing about his transformation, sometimes it creates the space for others to be transformed as well.

So here he is, on trial in front of King Agrippa, and in his defense, he shares about a light and a voice, and a new mission from Jesus.

QUESTIONS FOR THE FIELD

  • Do you have a testimony like this, or is yours one of gradual growth in Christ-likeness?
  • What is the benefit of both types of testimonies?

FAMILY FIELD TALK

  • Who do you talk to about Jesus?
  • What would you tell your friends, family, neighbors, classmates, or co-workers about Jesus?

PRAYER GUIDE

God, may we never forget that we’ve been made new.  And made new with the purpose of helping others be made new.  Give us the words to share with those we encounter.  Amen.
