FIELD NOTES
Psalm 66 ends with this line: we went through fire and through water; yet you have brought us out to a spacious place. It’s a reference to Exodus 3:8 where God declares: I have come down to deliver my people from the power of the Egyptians and to bring them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey.
My wife is naturally kind with her words and generous with encouragement. But I think my favorite compliment that she’s blessed with me, was a time when she described me as someone who has a spacious faith. My faith is spacious (I like to think of it as a table in which there’s always room for one more chair to be added) because I have experienced Psalm 66 to be true.
My experience of God has been one of overwhelming grace, never-ending welcome, abundant love, and a spacious foundation. I pray that you too have or will have that experience of God.
QUESTION FOR THE FIELD
