DAILY READING

John 14:27-29

27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT CHALLENGE

For the duration of our sermon series, we are offering daily prompts for applying the wisdom from the scriptures to our everyday lives. Each week focuses on how we can encourage those around us and bear fruit! This week we are focusing on the fruit of peace.

“We hear the Lord calling to us and promising us his peace, even when we are still caught up in the pleasures and vanities of this world. But so desirous is our Lord that we should seek him and enjoy the peace of his company, that in one way or another he never ceases calling us.”
-St. Teresa of Avila

It can feel easy to get caught up in the world and everything we are experiencing currently. But Christ gives us peace and gives not as the world gives. Who can you encourage today with this truth?
