Standards

DAILY READING

Ephesians 4:17-5:2

FIELD NOTES

When one hears the word “standards,” I imagine McDonalds would be one of the last places you think of. I’d imagine that would be a right thought most of the time.  I would also argue that goes to execution, rather than a lack of actual standards.  When I worked at McDonalds during my college years, I was blown away at the food standards which every single menu item had to meet.  From temperature to appearance to time, food at the particular McDonalds where I worked was thrown away for missing even one of their standards. Our McDonalds was consistently awarded for exceeding standards, both in incentives, and more so in business.  Our standards mattered.  Do yours?

QUESTIONS FROM THE FIELD

  • What standards do you have set for your own life? For your family?
  • How have those standards affected you?

PRAYER GUIDE

Lord, we know there is grace, but we also know we have a part in this relationship.  Help us live a life worthy of you. Amen.
