DAILY READING

Psalm 78:21-25

“Therefore, when the Lord heard, he was full of rage; a fire kindled against Jacob, his anger mounted against Israel because they had no faith in God and did not trust in his saving power. Yet he commanded the skies above and opened the doors of heaven; he rained down on them the manna to eat and gave them the grain of heaven. Mortals ate of the bread of angels; he sent them food in abundance.”

FIELD NOTES

With the same intensity that God hates sin, he loves us. And his love is powerful. Despite Israel’s mistakes and complaints, God still loved his people and provided bread from heaven. God was angry at Jacob and the Israelites because they had no faith in God and did not trust his saving power. YET, he rained down food in abundance. God loves us so much that he gets angry when we don’t trust him and try to seek fulfillment in things that are not him. God wants us to follow him because he knows what is best for us and loves us with the same intensity he has for hating sin.
