Let My People Go

September 2, 2020

DAILY READING

Exodus 7:16-18

“Say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, sent me to say, “Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the wilderness.’ But until now you have not listened. Thus says the Lord, ‘By this you shall know that I am the Lord.’ See, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water that is in the Nile, and it shall be turned to blood. The fish in the river shall die, the river itself shall stink, and the Egyptians shall not be able to drink water from the Nile.’”

FIELD NOTES

Our God is a jealous God, he loves us so much and wants to spend time with us. In the book of Exodus, God hears the cry of his people enslaved in Egypt and sends Moses to set his people free. God continues to send plagues to Egypt so that his people may be free. God wants his people to worship him in the wilderness, he wants them to be free. God loved and loves his people so much that he sent continuous plagues to Egypt until pharaoh listened and let God’s people go. God is powerful and full of jealous love for us.
