Roof Moments

DAILY READING

Mark 2:1-12

FIELD NOTES

When I was younger, my dad got sick.  Really sick.  He needed a new liver, and soon.  I was never one to take prayer requests to my pastor.  I didn’t want to be a bother.  I know, in retrospect that sounds silly, but it’s how I felt.  I’m sure some of you reading this feel that way now.  But when my dad got sick, I went to my pastor.  I sat with him and he listened.  I cried.  He cried.  He told me about his dad.  It was one of those moments you always remember.  And it only happened because I was willing to put aside my feelings to take my dad’s need before God.  It was a roof moment.
