Love and Joy

DAILY READING

Galatians 5:16-26

FIELD NOTES

As my second son grows, and learns, we see all sorts of new expressions and reactions from him.  At 18 months, he’s what I would call a walking fountain of love and joy.  Everything elicits a smile, or a hug, or both.  He’s quick to snuggle and quick to laugh.  He is learning that these behaviors elicit from mom and dad similar reactions, creating a cycle of love and joy.  He is without the weight of the world, and as a father, the love and joy he brings help quiet the voices of negativity out in the world that constantly bombard us.

QUESTIONS FOR THE FIELD

  • What brings you joy?
  • How do you fight against the negative voices out in the world?

FAMILY FIELD TALK

  • What do love and joy look like in our actions?

PRAYER GUIDE

Lord, may your love and joy flow through us in a way that helps us resist the outside negativity of the world.  Amen.
