The Birds

DAILY READING

John 1:14

FIELD NOTES

Listen to this 1965 recording of Paul Harvey’s Christmas classic story titled “The Man and the Birds”

Sometimes it is hard to follow God. We want something to hold on to, something we can see, something we can touch. God understands our human need to see and feel. Out of love, He gifted us with a baby who entered the world as helpless as we are, so that we could have someone to follow, someone we wouldn’t be afraid of.

QUESTIONS FOR THE FIELD

  • How is God calling out to you? What is preventing you from hearing the message God is giving to you?

FAMILY FIELD TALK

  • Do you ever feel like you need to do something or go somewhere, but are afraid to go alone? Listen to the story “The Man and the Birds” and talk to your parents or a trusted adult about what it means. Remember, wherever we go, whatever we do, God will always be with us.

PRAYER GUIDE

Gracious and Holy God, please lead me. Help me to see you in your messengers and I will trust in you and not be afraid. Amen.
