A Servant’s Hands, Feet, and Heart
May 21, 2022
DAILY READING
1 John 3:23: And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.
Ephesians 2:10: We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
I am privileged to volunteer at BUMC during the week, and I am always overwhelmed at the abundance of people who come in and out each day to be the hands and feet of Christ for our church. Stephen ministers meet friends for conversation and prayer. Fishes and Loaves chefs, preparers, and deliverers are faithful each Wednesday to provide meals and visits for our members who can’t get out. AA meetings happen as one of our on-site ministries. Sunny Day volunteers welcome Sunny Day participants. Choirs meet for practices. Career Transitions provides guidance for those looking for employment. These and so many other activities and ministries go on all day and every day of the week. Obviously none of the above could happen without BUMC volunteers whose hearts, hands and feet are willing to give and serve.
FAMILY FIELD TALK
Share with each other in your family one way that you are being God’s feet and hands for someone this week. Then share a way someone did something unexpected for you that showed God’s love. What did you learn about yourself in both situations?
PRAYER GUIDE
Loving and caring Lord, please help us to be ready to be Your feet and hands in what we do for others. Amen.
