The Turquoise Tables
The Turquoise Table started as a woman wanting to meet her neighbors and quickly turned into a national movement to foster community right in our own front yards. With tables in every state, the Turquoise Table has become a symbol of hospitality and invitation to gather and connect with our neighbors.
The Turquoise Table was brought to BUMC by our Caring Ministries Team, in collaboration with Schaefer Smith, who assembled and painted the tables as his Eagle Scout Project.
Let's Get the Conversation Started!
Below are questions to spark conversation when gathering at the tables with new friends:
- What's your favorite thing about living / working in this neighborhood?
- Have you tried any new recipes lately?
- What's one thing you're really passionate about?
- Do you have any fun summer plans?
- What's a recent book or movie you really enjoyed?
- What's a meaningful tradition you celebrate with your friends or family?
- What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
- What's the best concert you've ever been to?
- What music genres do you listen to?
