FIELD NOTES
Pharisees, man. They just don’t get it. Jesus refuses to fit into their expectation of the Messiah. Because of that, they can’t see the divinity in him. Of course Jesus can forgive sins. But because he doesn’t fit their box of who God is, he must not be the One. How often do we miss out on what God is doing because it doesn’t fit in our box? Maybe God’s truth can be found in a movie, or a trip into the woods with your family, or from someone with a different political viewpoint than your own. But because we have an idea stuck in our head of who God should be, we miss it. Don’t be like the Pharisees.
