The Sunny Day Club®
The Sunny Day Club® was founded at Brentwood United Methodist Church for persons in the early stages of memory loss. This group meets every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The mission of The Sunny Day Club® is to provide social interaction, friendship, and stimulation in a caring environment, as well as to provide respite for caregivers.
The Sunny Day Club® allows caregivers a block of time each week to run errands or rest – whatever they need! Caregivers can also attend a Share and Care Group on the second Tuesday of each month from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Volunteers provide one-on-one attention. They lead singing, exercises, games, and crafts. Training is provided, and volunteers commit to a background check and regular attendance based on personal schedules.
Membership costs $1 per meeting. Members bring a sack lunch, with coffee, water, and lemonade provided.
