Choirs for All Ages

Chancel Choir

Sundays, 6:30-8 p.m., Choral Suite

Chancel Choir is open to all adults and rehearses Wednesdays, 6:30-8 p.m. Childcare is available as needed. Chancel Choir sings in the 11 a.m. worship service most Sundays, presents an annual Christmas concert, and sings in Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter services. New voices are always welcomed!

Jubilation Choir (6th – 8th grade)

Sundays, 4:45-6 p.m., Choral Suite

Jubilation Choir is open to students in grades 6-8 and welcomes those who seek to lead worship in music and grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, and musically. Jubilation Choir works hard to create an inclusive culture, encouraging one another in our faith journey. Together we find creative ways to connect with music, fun, and sharing our stories!

Sonshine Choir is open to students in grades 9-12 and welcomes those who seek to lead worship in music and grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, and musically. Sonshine Choir works hard to create an inclusive culture, encouraging one another in our faith journey. Together we find creative ways to connect with music, fun, and sharing our stories!

Children's Choirs (4 years – 5th grade)

Wednesdays, 6:15-7 p.m., Haney Hall

Children's Choirs are offered for children ages 4 through 5th grade. Angel Choir (Pre-K and Kindergarten), Agape Choir (grades 1-2), and Asbury Choir (grades 3-5) meet on Wednesdays 6:15-7 p.m. Children in grades 2-5 also have the option to participate in Rhythm + Bells, an instrumental music time before children's choir held 5-5:45 p.m.

Other Music Opportunities

BUMC Ringers

Sundays, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Gathering Space

Do you have an interest in playing handbells? Adult ringers (18+) are welcomed to join BUMC Ringers (ringing experience is not required). BUMC Ringers rehearses on Sundays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the first floor Gathering Space. BUMC Ringers plays in worship & in concerts periodically each year, including the annual Festival of Carols.

For His Glory (Liturgical Dance Ministry)

Sundays, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., The Pit

For His Glory is our liturgical dance ministry for 1st through 5th graders. For His Glory dances in worship 2-3 times per year and at other musical events throughout the year. No dance experience is required.
Liturgical dance is a longstanding expression of worship in the Christian faith. The free-flowing movement allows dancers and viewers alike to experience a wide range of emotions while connecting with God.

JoySound Orchestra

Tuesdays, 6:45-8 p.m., Sanctuary

This multigenerational ensemble invites wind, string, brass, and percussion instrumentalists to join together to use your gifts in music ministry. JoySound Orchestra is open to adults and students in grades 9-12. No audition is necessary; BUMC members and non-members are welcomed to play and fellowship with JoySound!

Rhythm + Bells

Wednesdays, 5-5:45 p.m., Gathering Space

Rhythm + Bells meets on Wednesday nights, 5-5:45 p.m., during the school year. Open to children in grades 2-5, Rhythm + Bells (with Bunn and Wells!) is an instrumental music time where children explore different percussion and Orff instruments as wells as handchimes and more!

Worship Band

Accepting new musicians

The Worship Band leads music and worship in the 9:45 a.m. service on Sundays.
This group combines singers and instrumentalists to lift praises up to God through music. The Modern Worship Band requires an audition and interview to join.
