Orphan, Foster + Adoption Ministry
OFAM seeks to empower and equip the BUMC congregation to care for orphans, foster children, and adoptive and foster families as a mean of discipleship. We strive to raise awareness about orphans and foster children locally and globally to share with our BUMC family.
November 3, 2019
Since 2002, Orphan Sunday has grown from a local observance within a few churches to a vision that impacts children’s lives across the globe — with local events taking place in 94 countries this year! With guidance from Christian Alliance for Orphans, BUMC recognizes Orphan Sunday each fall in worship by highlighting the work that OFAM and its partner ministries are doing in Greater Nashville and beyond.
OFAM Easter Basket Packing
Spring 2020 dates coming soon
OFAM teams up with our congregation annually in giving Easter baskets to over 450 children in foster care in Williamson and Davidson Counties. It is a great way to share God’s love and the message of Christ with the children and youth in our community!
There are three ways to participate:
- Supply items to go in the baskets.
- Help us pack the baskets. This family-friendly event is a fun and exciting way for whole families to serve.
- Help us deliver the baskets to local organizations after we are done packing.
