FIELD NOTES
“Give thanks to the Lord because he is good, because his faithful love lasts forever.” The words of the Psalmist are so appropriate for today, even though they were written long before Jesus was crucified and resurrected. I know that this prayer of thanks and praise is on my lips this morning, and I hope it will be on yours too. We celebrate something amazing today, one of the central stories to our faith. Jesus lives! The Good News of the Gospel is that despite everything that seems dark, despite the reality of death, despite the brokenness we see in our world, Jesus lives!

                “I thank you because you answered me,

                because you were my saving help.

                The stone rejected by the builders

                is now the main foundation stone!

                This has happened because of the Lord;

                it is astounding in our sight!

                This is the day the Lord acted;

                we will rejoice and celebrate in it!”

We give thanks to God for acting out of love for us, for acting to save us, for giving us the gift of Jesus. Thank you!
