Deep In My Bones

November 26, 2018

DAILY READING

Psalm 63
This weekend’s reading: Jeremiah 33:14-16

FIELD NOTES

Here comes Advent!  It’s just around the corner and this Psalm seems to be preparing my heart for such a time.  Advent is a time of longing and waiting on the Christ Child to be born.  The Psalm says “O God you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”  What powerful imagery!  I pray that my soul longs for God in such a way that even in my bones I ache to serve and know Him, to praise His good and holy name!  I pray that we can all be filled with God’s Spirit with every breath that fills our lungs, that we may know life abundant as we long after Him.

QUESTIONS FROM THE FIELD

  • How are you trying to be aware of God’s presence in your life in every moment?
  • How are you pouring yourself out for God?
  • How is God filling you up?

PRAYER

Lord God, make yourself known to me.  I need you.  I beg for you.  Fill me with your Spirit.  Move in my heart.  Fill me with Your breath.  Fill me with the desire to live the life you want me to live.  I give myself and all that I have to you.  Amen.
