Romans 1:8-17
Psalm 51
This weekend’s reading: Luke 23:18-24

FIELD NOTES

Christians get it wrong all the time.  We act out in hate against things we disagree with.  We fail time and time again to love our neighbor as they need to be loved.  We are often judgmental and condescending.  Most often, we fail to admit our own personal sin and point out the sin of others in an attempt to feel better about ourselves.

It can be easy to feel ashamed of the Christian faith, and not want to be associated with it.  But when we truly look at the Gospel–that Christ died for the sins of all–it’s harder to be ashamed.

Christ’s love, death, and resurrection cover all.  That is something we should embrace, and boast about.  May our embrace of the true Gospel overshadow our shame of the failings of our fallen nature.

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.”  Amen.

  • Where can I find God in those I disagree with or am ashamed of?

FAMILY FIELD TALK

PRAYER GUIDE
