Fields Ripe for Harvest
October 14, 2019
DAILY READINGS
Luke 10:1-2
This weekend’s scripture: Luke 10:1-12
FIELD NOTES
Jesus says that “…The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few…” (Luke 10:2)
A recent MissionInsite.com report shows that 102,094 people live within five miles of our Brentwood United Methodist Church home. The report also shows that 62.5% (63,809 people) of these people are NOT actively involved in a religious community.
One conclusion we can draw from this: The fields are ripe for harvest!
QUESTION FOR THE FIELD
- Who was a person in your life that God used to influence you to accept Christ into your life?
- Who is a person to whom you can point that you influenced to accept Christ into his/her life?
- Who is a person to whom you can point that you influenced to accept Christ into her/his life recently?
- Who is a person whom God is presently trying to influence through you?
- Is there a neighbor, acquaintance, or colleague that God wants you to meet who may not have a church home?
FAMILY FIELD TALK
- How have family members influenced you in faith?
- How can you continue to support each other in faith?
- How can God use each of you to influence others in faith?
PRAYER GUIDE
Most loving, gracious, Lord, you’ve used others to influence my relationship with you. There are so many people in our community who have no relationship with you. Please guide me to be your person reaching out with your grace to them. In your gracious name, I pray. Amen.
