Peace

DAILY READINGS

John 14:27

FIELD NOTES

These are anxious times. I’m not sure about your house, or your family, but in my home, we have to daily pray for the peace of Christ, the peace that passes all understanding, to wash over us.

I remember that morning on 9/11/2001, watching the towers fall. The threat of further attacks didn’t instill fear in me nearly as much as the fact that everything I thought I knew suddenly seemed irrelevant. My core was shaken.

These are difficult times. I encourage you to join me in praying every day for the peace of Christ to wash over you, your family, your neighbors, all medical professionals, grocery store workers, etc. There is power in the peace only Christ can give us. Cling to it. Rest in it. Ask for it.

QUESTIONS FROM THE FIELD

PRAYER GUIDE

Jesus give us the peace that passes understanding. Wrap us up and squeeze us tight. Fill us with joy, not anxiety. Fill us with love for our neighbor, and willing hands. Amen.
