Obedience

DAILY READING

Romans 2:12-16

FIELD NOTES

My three-year-old is learning about obedience lately.  What I mean to say is, he is learning about what happens when you are disobedient.  Time out has become a second home for him the last few weeks.  The thing is, his heart is pure and good.  He wants to do good, but sometimes his emotions or desires get the best of him.  He’s three, so we act accordingly.

But what is my excuse?  I’m an adult.  Why do I still struggle with obedience?  What is it about authority that so many of us push back against?

QUESTIONS FROM THE FIELD

What do you have problems with when it comes to obedience?

PRAYER GUIDE

Lord, make us like you.  Help us follow you as we should, not as we want.  Amen.
