They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
The disciples, who have been with Jesus, and who have seen the works he has done up to this point—they still don’t get it. They still don’t understand who they are following.
My wife and I were talking the other night about how, the more we learn about Jesus, the less we understand. I think that has to be the case with the disciples also. How can you ever understand the majesty of God in the flesh…of Emmanuel?
