Up to Your Neck?

January 11, 2021

DAILY READING

Psalm 69:1-5

FIELD NOTES

“Save me O God, for the waters have come up to my neck.”  Isn’t that such a beautiful picture of the struggle?  We are constantly fighting against a force of nature that bends us towards our own downfall.  Some might call it our sinful nature, or simply just sin.  Some might call it our true selves versus who we are in the fall.  Regardless of what that force is…there is no denying our constant struggle to be who we were created to be. Are the waters at your ankles?  Your waist?  Or like the psalmist, are they up to your neck or even higher?
