Beholding God

August 5, 2020

DAILY READING

Psalm 17:15

“As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness, when I awake I shall be satisfied, beholding your likeness.”

FIELD NOTES

Have you ever met someone who seems to be constantly at peace? No matter what life throws their way, they are still confident in the goodness of God. I will admit, I am not one of those people. I get flustered. I get scared. I get angry. However, I was recently talking to a group of friends about our worries of the continuing struggles of the coronavirus. Someone asked my friend what would happen if he lost his job and he responded, “we would still find a way to minister.” He was not worried about money or other plans. His focus was on God’s face and he was satisfied. My friend’s focus was on a relationship of eternal nature rather than the worries of this world.

PRAYER GUIDE

Holy God, thank you that you call us to be in fellowship with you. Thank you that you allow us to behold your likeness. God, help us to seek your face in everything we do. Amen.
