FIELD NOTES

Today, let us practice the ancient art of Lectio Divina.  If you are using the Field Guide in your small groups, this is even better. 

First, read the Psalm.  Done?  Good.  Read it again.  And again.  Get it into your bones.
 
Next, meditate on it.  This doesn’t have to be for any certain amount of time, but take time to be silent and listen to the words in your mind and heart. 
 
Now—pray.  Ask God to open the meaning of the scripture to you.  Listen. 
 
Finally, contemplate what this scripture can mean in your life, in the life of your group, in the life of our church? 

PRAYER

Lord, your word is a lamp unto our feet.  May it ever be so.  Amen.
