FIELD NOTES

Our dear friend was pregnant. Five months into the pregnancy, it went south. She had to deliver. The little girl lived only a little under an hour. In that time, I was able to hold her. She was so tiny. Her breaths barely felt in my hand. She was beautiful. She was gone far too soon. When I think of the saints, when I think of Christ, I think of her.
